Child Photography Session in California Poppy Field | Spring Portraits
Maya’s mom contacted me to get spring portraits taken as a surprise gift for her dad for Father’s Day. This just completely melted my heart and I couldn’t think of a more perfect gift then pictures from your little girl. When chatting with her mom she mentioned she wanted them in a poppy field. The week before I went out scouting and I found the perfect field full of California’s golden poppies. With California’s ‘super bloom’ still in full effect, I knew this was just the place to take her!
We started Maya’s photography session an hour before sunset and the light was magical! Maya was such a natural in front of the camera. She was obsessed with bugs and always looking for butterflies; she actually even found a few! It was so much fun watching her explore and see her little face light up when she would find a new creature.
As many of you know, one of my favorite things about photography is getting to know my clients’ families, and I can already tell you I adore this family! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Maya and her mom and as it turns out, her mom was a teacher prior to having kids just like me!
I can’t wait to hear what dads reaction is when he gets his Father’s Day gift. I think this just may be the best gift ever!
