Newborn Photography Studio Session
When Hayden’s mom Julie contacted me for a newborn studio session she was concerned that Hayden may be too old for a newborn session. At the time Hayden was almost one month old. I assured her that he was absolutely not too old. It is possible to do older newborn sessions! Typically newborn sessions are held within the first two weeks of birth. This is when they are still really sleepy and their bones are still so soft, they are able to curl into those womb like newborn poses. However, things happen and not all newborns are able to make it into the studio the first two weeks of birth. Guess what? That is ok!
Older newborns will typically be swaddled during their session because they are more awake and alert. Swaddling them gives them a sense of security. This is where you get those wide-awake shots and parents love this! Feeling the connection between newborns and their parents as they gaze into their eyes is so heart warming. Although older newborns are more awake they still have their sleep time as well so I am able to get a mixture of both. It is never too late to document your newborns life!
Hayden was one month old when he came to the studio for his baby portraits; we were able to capture a good mix of awake and sleepy shots. Hayden was a wiggler and boy was he strong, but he loved being swaddled! He also loved being held by his mom and dad, who were by the way, so incredibly sweet! Congratulations Mo and Julie, Hayden is perfect in every way! Here are some of my favorites from Hayden’s session. Enjoy!
Wide awake and as happy as can be gazing at mommy.
This little outfit so looked so adorable on him! Pants by Avonli.
Nothing sweeter than baby toes!
Such a beautiful family!
